Happy Bird's day Birdland
Today is the anniversary of Birdland New York. 32 years ago today, Gianni Valenti together with the wife of Charlie Parker, the late Chan Parker, reopened Birdland. Gianni has been working tirelessly over the last 3 decades to give Birdland the same prestige as it former self when the club was owned by Bird himself. Gianni had the immediate support of all the musicians that played at original Birdland. Miles Davis, Herbie Hancok, Ray Brown, Oscar Peterson were among the regulars and they all joined back to new club to make it the sucess it is today. We are proud to salute Birdland's achievements, long live our New York sister Club.
