After John Coltrane and Miles Davis took music to unbelievable heights, the question was, who could take it any further? The answer was, Michael Brecker.
Brecker is the most important musician since Coltrane and Davis. Whether as a featured soloist in NBC's Saturday Night Live Band or with James Brown, Herbie Hancock or Billy Joel, Brecker took the saxophone higher than ever before. He redefined its sound in jazz, pop and R&B and won Grammy awards 15 times in recognition.
Andy Sugg and John Mackey are excited to present a program of Brecker's most popular music, with a super-group of Australian and international musicians.
Joining Andy Sugg and John Mackey on tenor saxophones are Brett Williams on piano, Phil Rex on bass and Felix Bloxsom on drums.
