Karen Lee Andrews’ songcraft is built on a thorough knowledge of oceanic blues and soul music and propelled by an undeniable hunger to connect. Yet the defining ingredient is Karen’s unshakeable artistic passion.
Andrews tours as a 3-piece, teaming up with Yanya Boston on drums, and Adam Ventoura on bass. Each musician is outstanding in their own right, but the group dynamic is exhilarating to witness!
The influence of soul, gospel and Karen’s Polynesian background continues to inform what she does, but the blues have come to feel more like home. Her show is powerful, entertaining and vulnerable – a journey where Karen shares her artistry and story with her audience.
Karen’s latest release is called Edin, which translates to “place of pleasure.”
“This EP is a cultural expression of my heritage and a celebration of my own personal identity as an artist. There are songs that you will dance to, sing along to and cry to. Raw, fun, powerful and authentically me,” says Karen.
