Jackie Bornstein brings her rich vocals to express the power of jazz as a force for justice, creativity and unity. From early on jazz created a space inclusive of all races, where music served as a tool to confront social injustices of the day. Jackie has selected songs by artists including Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Leonard Cohen and Vince Jones, demonstrating the range of social justice issues addressed by jazz artists from the 1930’s to the modern day.  Featuring Jackie Bornstein (voice), Sam Keevers (piano), Craig Fermanis (guitar), Ben Hanlon (bass), Danny Fischer (drums).

Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne's most captivating singers. She secured sold out shows at the 2018 and 2017 Melbourne International Jazz Festival and she is a regular at Melbourne’s top jazz venues. Known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie brings a powerful energy to each performance. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and completed a UK Masters scholarship on the role of music in resolving the conflict. She performs with a selection of Australia's finest musicians and enchants audiences with her emotive delivery and beautiful tone.
