Drawing his repertoire from every genre, you’ll experience the smooth beats of the 60’s to the poptastic tunes of the noughties. Playing with genre’s and styles in a joyfully unpredictable and challenging way. It’s high energy with a feel good vibe and lot’s of good natured fun, guaranteed to leave you sweaty and begging for more!
Formed by six of Melbourne’s most experienced musicians, Eugene Hamilton and the Money are the cream of Melbourne’s musical talent. Playing to audiences around the world for decades, they share long and diverse careers:
Eugene Hamilton (Vocals): also known as Dave Bowers is no stranger to the stage having first shot to fame with his band The Nubile’s, touring with the Hoodoo Gurus then going on to become
the lead singer of hugely successful and iconic Melbourne band The Stone Cold Boners. It’s rumoured he has to employ a professional full-time tucker to tuck his shirt into his slacks as he wears so many rings on his fingers it makes it impossible to do it himself.
Chris Paraha (Bass Guitar): An astonishing presence in the band. Having worked with many ARIA award winning artists such as Russell Morris and Vika and Linda Bull, Paraha knows how to lay down a serious groove and contribute some delicious backing vocals. Considers himself well versed in all styles of love and other catastrophes.
John Mcall (Keys): The illustrious John Mcall with a career highlights list as long as he is tall. An International performer, composer and band leader, so used to being the star he sometimes needs reminding he isn’t. As an instrumental member of The Black Sorrows and having played with the likes of Ross Wilson, David Campbell and Debra Byrne, John McAll is a force to be reckoned with.
Shane Ryall (Guitar): Shane Ryall has been performing and teaching guitar for over 30 years. With roots in all styles of music from Classical to Country and Jazz to Heavy Metal, there is nothing Shane can’t do. Shane has shared the stage with some BIG names in the industry, including Dan Hicks (USA) and Steve Sedegreen as well as a massive 7 tours with The Drifters. Shane goes wherever his guitar takes him.
Tibor Gyapjas (Trumpet): Of Hungarian decent, Tibor Gyapjas is the most sought after trumpet player in the industry, playing with some of the biggest names in the biz. Notable past performances include working alongside John Farnham, Tina Arena and Vanessa Amarosi and touring the UK with At Last - The Etta James Story. Tibor is certainly a weapon of brass destruction.
Haydn Meggit (Drums): Between touring and recording with a seriously impressive list of artists including Dan Sultan, Ian Moss and Kate Cebrano, to curating a number of his own successful projects, Haydn is a busy man, but never too busy to grace the stage with Eugene Hamilton. Rumour has it Haydn had two titanium hips installed to make his legs move twice as fast.
