On September 5, Bird’s Basement will host a special tribute concert celebrating the legendary Jamaican saxophonist Tommy McCook. Led by Melbourne’s renowned saxophonist Dean Hilson, the evening will feature Hilson’s arrangements of McCook’s timeless ska and reggae hits. Performed on the night by the Ska Vendors, McCook, a founding member of The Skatalites, left an enduring legacy with his unique blend of jazz and reggae.
