The Outernet is a cinematic jazz-fusion project led by Australian pianist, composer and producer Phil Turcio. Blending modern jazz harmony, improvisation and atmospheric production, the project creates expansive instrumental music that bridges contemporary jazz with film-inspired soundscapes.

Their debut album The Light & The Fury has attracted international radio attention, achieving a No. 1 placement on the Radio & Records (R+R) charts and gaining airplay across multiple jazz stations. Moving between intimate lyrical passages and powerful rhythm-driven moments, The Outernet combines expressive improvisation with detailed studio production.

The group returns to the stage at Bird’s Basement on May 28, continuing to build momentum as a distinctive voice in modern instrumental jazz.
